Spring

When fine sun rays filter through to warm the ice crystal surface of the Hintertuxer Glacier, sun hungry skiers and boarders come out in force to enjoy one of the best times of the year. Skiing on sun-drenched slopes with 100% snow guarantee and guaranteed powder right into the month of May has to be the ultimate ski experience.

At 3000 metres above sea level, the Zillertaler Glacier Ski Region has 86km of wide, well groomed pistes with plenty of room to manoeuvre and perfect your style. The run down from the highest point at 3250 meters above sea level to the Sommerbergalm at 2100 meters is not only suitable for experienced skiers and boarders, but also an incredible experience for beginners to intermediates.

The Betterpark snowboarder’s paradise next to the Olperer drag lift is an internationally renowned meeting place for world famous boarders to practice their freestyle tricks and ride the glacier’s perfectly groomed pistes.

Summer

All four seasons of the year can be experienced at once in summer in Tux in Zillertal. Almost no other place on earth can offer such diversity as Austria’s only summer ski region, the Tyrolean glacier ski region at the Hintertuxer Glacier.

Regardless of preference, skiers, boarders, walkers, day trippers, extreme sports enthusiasts and nature lovers will be hooked!

Starting with summer skiing on 18 km of sun drenched pistes (9 lift systems), snowboarders will delight in the Halfpipe, Funboxes, Table-Tops und Rails at the Betterpark. The choice of activities goes on, with a myriad of mountain bike and hiking trails, glacier tours and the Gletscherflohpark for younger guests – there really is something for everyone.

If you just fancy chilling out and catching some rays, sun loungers are available for use on the sun terraces of the Tuxer Fernerhaus, the Panorama Terrace or at the Sommerbergalm Panorama Restaurant.

Autumn

Fresh powder snow from September onwards and wide open pistes in breathtaking dimensions surprise not only snowboarders and skiers. Walkers and visitors are amazed by this fascinating natural spectacle at the Hintertuxer Glacier.

Views from the Panorama Terrace stretch over crystal clear autumnal skies past the Olperer Mountain and on to the Domlomites, Großglockner and the Zugspitze. Caressed by the autumn sunshine, your skin will prickle and feel invigorated – a feast for all senses!

Snow hungry skiers can revel in 40 – 60km of fresh powder pistes in every grade of difficulty, as well as the sensational Betterpark Hintertux at the Olperer lifts with Halfpipe, Funboxes, Table-Tops and Rails.

It’s not surprising that world famous ski and snowboard teams from 46 nations have chosen the Zillertaler Glacier Ski Region with its’ 100% snow guarantee as the ideal training grounds to prepare for the forthcoming winter championships.

Winter

4 ski regions – 1 Skipass – and… unique in Austria… Unlimited ski fun from 630 metres to 3250 metres above sea level! Covering unbelievable dimensions of 227 km in piste length and a surface area of 800 hectares, 59 state of the art lift and cable car systems guarantee a superlative winter holiday.

On the „Gletscherrunde“(glacier circuit) it is possible to ski over a breathtaking 15.000 metres of altitude difference and 72 km in length of varied runs ranging from blue to black. The longest run is 12km long with an altitude difference of 1750 metres from top to bottom – awesome!
29 ski huts and mountain restaurants are on hand to provide weary guests with some welcome R & R between runs. Sensational views can be enjoyed at the Panorama Terrace on the Hintertuxer Gletscher at 3250m as well as the viewing point at the Wanglspitz next to the top lift station of the 150er Tux at Rastkogel.
